I can't say enough about cooking classes at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. What a blast! I finished up the Back to Basics series on Tuesday. Below are some pictures from our last class. My partner and I made Beef Tenderloin with Sauce Robert -- yum! Other dishes pictured include Poached Salmon, Poached Eggs with Chipotle Hollandaise, and Chicken Allemande. Also, Chef Scott gave a demonstration on making fresh pasta...mmmm, delicious :-)

Last week I photographed a painting by local artist Cheryl Thompson. Cheryl has just completed a series of portraits of teachers, both in their home and classroom environments. She is currently preparing her graduation show to celebrate earning a master's degree from MassArt. Congrats, Cheryl!

ah, vacationland

We took a quick trip up to Portland, Maine over the weekend to help Greg & Billy celebrate their birthdays. We played Guitar Hero, ate cake, and partied like rock stars Saturday night (that is, if rock stars party with their parents and play beer pong!)

Following a hearty "morning after" breakfast at the fabulous Becky's Diner, we headed over to Hadlock Field to catch a Sea Dogs game. $7 tickets and $5 parking -- what a refreshing change from Fenway!

For the last five weeks, I've been taking cooking classes at The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Porter Square. It's so much fun! Today my fellow student Eric and I made Indian Grilled Vegetables with Paneer. I can't believe I made cheese!

Next week is our last session, so maybe I'll bring along a real camera and try to make the pictures look appetizing :-) Here are a couple of iPhone photos from this afternoon.

a visit with the kraaimoores

My great friends Kelly & Bert Kraaimoore were in town this week to visit family and we spent the morning at Wollaston Beach laughing with their super-fun sons Hans and Ian. The boys chased seagulls, climbed rocks, explored the seagrass, and enjoyed a treat or two!

Chris & I had lots of fun yesterday afternoon cheering the Red Sox on to victory and welcoming new leftfielder Jason Bay to Boston. WEEI was passing out signs that read, "Manny Who?" Too funny. Our seats are under cover, so we didn't even get soggy during the rain delay :-)

wollaston beach

I've been eyeing this spot at Wollaston Beach for weeks -- I think it'd make a great portrait location. It's even better when the tide is lower, then some sand is available, too. I took this picture Wednesday morning with my iPhone (LOVE IT) and the sky was nice and clear, not hazy at all :-)
